I am writing a book about light aircraft and small airfields. A lot has been written about big and fast aircraft. This will focus on ultralights and lead into the new Sport Plane! pilot category. Hopefully, this book will help with future expansion in the field of recreational flying.

The book, will be a'light'reading, coffee table book It will concentrate on major events and people involved in the history and development of ultralights and light airplanes.

The book will be titled: Airplanes/Airports: Lite! A"lite" American, Odyssey; and will evolve around a trip from SW Florida, to Oshkosh. This will be done by one or more light aircraft; flying in short segments and camping out on the way. No speed records or awards for doing so. At these campovers, interest in light aircraft will be shared. That's where these interesting segments will originate: around the campfire.

In his book, Yeager - the General mentioned that others helped him by writing his story from their point of view. Being a `Forrest Gump' type ( with none of his physical abilities) I hope your members and other light aircraft groups will help me. By sharing, those that have experienced some interesting event, can be part of its fabric.

If you know of someone that would like to contribute to the content of this book, please have them do so. More than one person can combine to write an interesting event or development in the history of light aircraft. Also include any interesting pictures you have.

My website isdevoted to a dream of mine: the creation of a unique airpark; with ranchettes featuring a home, hanger and a horse - and most importantly, a Children's Aviation Center. If this book is financially successful, the money will be used to build this airpark - and "The Center".

Writing this one page has been the most difficult part of this project. Someone once said, "Writing a five minute speech takes six months. But, a two hour one, I can give that right now". This is my five minute "speech". Help me with the two hour part; by sharing your interesting part in the ultralight movement - experienced or observed
